Like your blog, you manage to come off as interested in menswear yet not pretentious and self centered as many of your counterparts. Plus I haven't seen a single "street photographer" picture of you smoking a cigarette on a street corner - bonus points for sure.
Thank you very much for your nice comment, very kind of you! I believe that it’s always important to be polite.
As for smoking I get what you’re saying, how come all street photographs are of men smoking? All these dapper people are wild and crazy, who could have guessed! ;) ;)
In your experience, how does the fit and construction of Piombo blazers compare to other similar brands like Boglioli and LBM 1911? I'm looking to purchase my first unstructured jacket but it can be dang hard to find those two brands in a size 46 (as I'm sure you know)!
I’d say that the fit is pretty similar, most Italian brands are on the slim side which means that you sometimes can choose one size bigger. Hope this helps!
Hi, I'm a spanish guy who loves the italian style. The problem is that my size is IT 44/XS for jackets, blazers, coats (37 for shirts, I supose) and it's impossible to find this size in Barcelona, where I live. All shops that sells brands like Boglioli, Aspesi, Lubiam, Finamore, etc. have just the size 46 or 48 and up. I can order my size but it increases too much the cost of the purchase. I bought a pair of blazers from Aspesi and Boglioli in 44 IT from Yoox but is really hard to find stuff in
I get your problem, I have the same issue since I’m a size 46, usually small sizes sell out quickly. There’s no easy solution, however you could check Japanese sites like Rakuten, they have lots of small sizes(EU42-46). Most stores offer to send the parcel as a gift so you can avoid taxes and fees, perhaps that’s something that you can investigate? Other than that I really don’t know.
So, what's it like to be bitch-slapped by NTB? It seems pretty ridiculous that (a) he is an arbiter of taste (if you've seen how he dresses) and (b) that he chose you out of all possible targets to strike out against New Balances.
I don’t know who NTB is but if he doesn’t like what I wear I respect that, we all like different things, that’s life.
I can respect that people don’t like New Balance shoes, they don’t belong in a traditional wardrobe, however I personally think they add a nice and youthful touch that can sometimes be nice.
I welcome all feedback, good and bad! Cheers, mate.
What are your measurements (jacket, pants, shoes, shirts)? Please indicate if using EU, UK, or US sizes. Just wanted a frame of reference for how some of the products you wear fit and their proportions. Thanks.
I’m usually a size EU46 when it comes to both jackets and trousers. As for my shirting size I usually go with either EU38-39 and my shoe size is EU43,5-44 depending on the last and manufacturer. Hope this helps! :)
None, I’m considering getting one, however I don’t like watches very much, we’ll see if I change my mind in the future. Thinking of getting an Omega Speedmaster Professional, classic yet versatile in my opinion.
What do you typically wear in terms of footwear when it's raining?
I try to stay inside when it’s raining, if I’m forced to go outside I use footwear that feature a rubber sole, whether it’s sneakers or boots. I have some cheaper shoes that I’m not very careful with that I especially tend to use.
Since leather soles are sensitive to moist I’m very careful, if you spend a lot of money on your footwear you don’t wanna see them go to waste. Hope this answers your question, mate.
Just stumbled upon your tumblr, spent the last hour reading through your posts! You're super adorable, you dress fantastic, and you're Swedish! Keep up the good work :) -Just a girl interested in menswear.
Thank you for your kind words, it’s always nice to hear that the blog is appreciated, that’s what makes it fun to blog. Hope you’ll keep reading and thank you once again.
Recently did a spot of thrifting with friend and picked up a new 'FRENCHEYE' light tan corduroy blazer for £6.50, it was an absoloute bargain but stuck on outfit ideas for it. Do you have any ideas on what would work well? Cheers!
Glad that you found something that you like, and for £6.50 it sounds like it was a great find!
I’d go with either white trousers or light blue jeans, pair that up with a white shirt and a nice pocket square and you’re set! Also, you may add a brown or burgundy knit if you’re into ties.
